A Parent's Guide to the Amman Coffee Festival
Everything families need to know about bringing kids to ACF 2026 — timing, tips, and why 'The Picnic' is one of Amman's most family-friendly summer nights.
Festivals and small kids don’t always mix — but “The Picnic” is built differently. This year’s Amman Coffee Festival (20–23 August, Balsam Grounds) is laid out as an open-air picnic: lawns to sit on, string lights overhead, and room for kids to wander while you actually relax.
Evenings start early (doors from the afternoon on weekends), so you can come before bedtime and leave when you need to. There’s plenty to keep children curious — watching baristas pour latte art, the smell of beans roasting, live music they can dance to without anyone minding. Admission is 5 JOD and includes a free drink, which makes a family outing genuinely affordable.
A few parent tips:
- Arrive early for easy seating and parking
- Bring a light layer for the late-evening breeze
- Make the music your anchor — Saturday’s Cairokee set is the big one, but every night has a headline act
- The Be-The-Barista Lab is a great hands-on moment for older kids curious about coffee
