Your August 2026 Weekend Guide to Amman
If you're choosing one weekend in Amman this summer, make it the last one of August. Here's the complete plan — built around the Amman Coffee Festival.
If you’re choosing one weekend in Amman this summer, make it the last one of August. Here’s a simple plan built around the Amman Coffee Festival (20–23 August, Balsam Grounds).
Thursday: Ease in. A slow morning, a street market or gallery in the afternoon, dinner downtown. The festival opens tonight — Disco Masr headlining — so end the evening there if you want a warm-up night with a lighter crowd.
Friday: The afternoon festival — doors open at 14:00. Spend a couple of hours in the roasters’ village and catch the Be-The-Barista Lab, then stay for Autostrad’s set. One of Amman’s best homegrown bands, open sky, great crowd.
Saturday: This is the one. Cairokee headlines under the stars at Balsam Grounds. Get there early to claim a spot on the lawn, do a Coffee Cupping Lab session, and settle in. Saturday will be the most-talked-about night of the summer.
Sunday: A relaxed close — late brunch, a short drive, or back to the festival for Hani Mitwasi & Band. More intimate than Saturday; a good night for the real coffee fans who want to explore the roasters’ stalls without the peak crowd.
Logistics:
- Tickets: 5 JOD per night, includes one free drink. Online or at the door.
- Venue: Balsam Grounds, Amman
- Parking fills up on Saturday — arrive before 20:00
